Have you ever had a time in your life when you were afraid? Fear is a terrible thing. Also it can build and get out of control.
There are surely many things going on in the world that if you didn’t have hope in Christ, could cause you to fear.

Have you ever had a time in your life when you were afraid? Fear is a terrible thing. Also it can build and get out of control.
There are surely many things going on in the world that if you didn’t have hope in Christ, could cause you to fear.
I will share my experience. I had not been a Christian very long when this started happening to me. One night, I woke up (during the middle of the night) and thought I saw someone dart through the house. A few nights later, I heard something that sounded just like someone raising a window. I remember jumping out of bed, going into the living room, and I said, “Lord, you have to help me; this is crazy.”
My Bible was on the coffee table. I will use a little humor here, but truth, some of you might remember that we used to keep The Bible on the coffee table until we moved it so we could see our television better. (There is a deep thought.)
I didn’t know a lot of scriptures to look for.
I opened The Bible and immediately my eyes went to Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in The Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths.” I had never experienced anything quite like I felt after reading that scripture. It was as if it was for me, personally, and it was. And it is for you. I felt immediately God was in control, and I had nothing to fear if I trusted Him. I can tell you, I went back to bed, and I have never been afraid again.
This is not to say we never have burdens or concerns. Then we pray about them, faith-believing.
I will tell you about the sound I heard that sounded like a window being raised. We had a stoker furnace, and we had just had a load of coal delivered. We lived on a hill. The train tracks were not far from us. When a train passed that night, it caused the coal to slide down, making a sound as if a window was being raised up.
It would certainly seem to me, if you are living in this world now and you do not know Jesus Christ as your personal savior, there would be cause for fear.
God’s words are food for our soul. We should read it and claim it. It is the survival kit in the world. So what are my concerns? I believe with all my heart that Christ’s return is near, even at the door. Of course, no one knows the day nor the hour. Matthew 24 and Luke 21 give you a pretty good timeline, and we are looking at it.
Have you ever seen so much confusion, everywhere on every hand? What used to be white is now black. What used to be wrong is now right. We used to hear of values and integrity. Now there are more gray areas where there used to be black or white.
I have to keep repeating this story because I believe it so strongly. You know the story of the Israelites at the Red Sea. Pharaoh’s army behind them, there was no way to escape. I believe that is where America (and the world) is today. So many things happening that could bring us down. Only God can help us. Nothing is too hard for Him. We must look up and pray for a miracle. He is just waiting on us. He never left us. So many have forsaken Him. He forgives.
God bless.
